orey was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma (except for the few years her parents lived on the west coast. They didn’t like it much). She discovered her love of theatre in high school and decided to pursue a career in the arts shortly after being cast in a play her freshman year.
Upon graduating she was given an opportunity to star in a feature length film (that will have a limited theatrical release world-wide this summer) and traded in her playbills and rehearsal schedules for posters and table reads. In order to learn as much as she could, she took a job as a production assistant on the oscar-winning-film “August: Osage County”, quickly followed by William H. Macy’s “Rudderless” and “You Can’t Win”. She likes to stay busy doing anything creative, and can often be found working as an actress, a producer, a director, and even, occasionally, a set photographer.
After successfully producing and starring in the film “SIGHTLINES” last December, she made the move to California; only taking with her what she could fit in her car.
Though she primarily comes from a film background, Torey is incredibly excited to work with Umasqued Theatre Company and return to the stage as Beatrice in William Shakespeare’s, Much Ado About Nothing.
For those of you who have made it to the end of this bio, she also loves cheeseburgers, playing the ukulele, singing in the car (the same one she drove to California in), and dipping sauces.
She is currently represented by The CMA Management Group.
